 This low profile, platform-type AGV
can perform both roll handling and automated reel loading to the presses,
eliminating the need for a designated Pressman or dedicated loading
equipment assigned to either roll handling or reel loading. In addition
to standard industry roll sizes, the vehicle handles multiple length
and multiple diameter roll sizes, up to 4,000 lbs.
The vehicles also feature automatic battery charging capability, where
idle vehicles drive up to in-floor charging plates and recharge for
maximum availability. An added advantage is the ability to handle
50" and 55" rolls as well as partial rolls.
Quad travel capability allows for delivery of rolls to press and also
orientation of the roll for automatic chucking. Included in the lift
is a final adjustment to position the roll side-to-side, providing
a very accurate mate with the stationary roll chucks. Once in position,
the roll is automatically chucked. The vehicle exits the reel stand
& the press runs uninterrupted.
Laser bumpers are standard equipment, allowing for a smaller operating
space while keeping safety paramount by providing an "invisible"
area of protection around the vehicle.
At a major New Jersey newspaper, 7 of these AGVs deliver various sized
paper rolls and perform automatic reel loading at the reel stand. |
